Use these how-tos to set up your family, assign chores, review submissions, and manage rewards.

Family setup

Start with the right access for each person.

Create your family account

  1. Open ChorePoints and choose Create family.
  2. Enter the parent name, email address, password, and family name.
  3. Confirm the plan details and finish setup.
  4. After the family is created, add kids from the Family tab.

One family plan includes two parent logins and up to ten kid profiles.

Add a kid profile

  1. Go to Family.
  2. Tap Add child.
  3. Enter the child name.
  4. Choose shared-device PIN or email login.
  5. Save the profile.

PIN is best for a shared family device. Email login is best for a kid using their own device.

Invite another parent

  1. Go to Family.
  2. Open the parent invite option.
  3. Enter the other parent's email address.
  4. Send the invite.
  5. When they sign in, they can accept the family invite or reject it if it is not their family.

A user can only belong to one family at a time, so invites fail safely if the email is already in a family.

Chores and review

Choose the lowest amount of proof that works.

Create a chore

  1. Go to Chores.
  2. Tap Add chore.
  3. Choose a ready-made chore or write your own.
  4. Set the point value and any notes your kid needs.
  5. Choose no photo, parent photo review, or AI auto-review.
  6. Save the chore.

Assign chores

  1. Open the chore you want to assign.
  2. Choose Assign.
  3. Pick the kid or kids who should do it.
  4. Choose the day or repeat schedule.
  5. Save the assignment.

Use photos or AI only when helpful

  1. Use No photo for simple habits where trust is enough.
  2. Use Photo review when a parent wants quick visual proof.
  3. Use AI auto-review when the chore has a clear visual result and you want faster approval.
  4. If AI is unsure or unavailable, review the submission yourself.

This lets you limit the data your family provides while still using photos or AI when they save time.

Review a submission

  1. Go to Review.
  2. Open the submitted chore.
  3. Check the details and photo if one was required.
  4. Approve it to award points, or send it back with a short note.

Kid app

Help kids understand what to do next.

Complete a chore as a kid

  1. Open My Chores.
  2. Tap the chore.
  3. Read any parent notes.
  4. If the chore asks for a photo, take a fresh photo in the app.
  5. Submit the chore and wait for approval or retry instructions.

Switch profiles on a shared device

  1. Open the Family area.
  2. Choose the correct child profile.
  3. Enter the PIN if one is required.
  4. Start from My Chores.

Rewards

Turn points into something kids care about.

Create a reward

  1. Go to Store.
  2. Tap Add reward.
  3. Enter the reward name and point price.
  4. Add any rules, like time limits or parent approval notes.
  5. Save the reward so kids can see it in the store.

Redeem and approve rewards

  1. Kids open Store and choose a reward they can afford.
  2. They request the reward with their points.
  3. Parents review the reward request.
  4. Approve the request when the reward has been given.

Account help

Fix access problems without losing family history.

Reset a password

  1. On the login screen, choose Forgot password.
  2. Enter the account email address.
  3. Open the reset email and follow the link.
  4. Choose a new password and return to the app.

Leave a family

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Choose Leave family.
  3. Read the warning carefully.
  4. Type LeaveFamily exactly when asked.
  5. Confirm only if you really want to remove your access.

Family history is kept so an accidental leave can be reviewed later.

Email [email protected] with your family name, what screen you were on, and what happened. Do not send passwords or private codes.

Trials and billing

Understand the plan before you subscribe.

Start the two-week trial

  1. Download ChorePoints from Google Play and create the parent account.
  2. Choose yearly or monthly billing on the plan screen.
  3. Confirm the trial through Google Play.
  4. Review the renewal price and date shown by Google before confirming.

Trial eligibility and localized pricing are controlled by the app store.

Cancel or restore a subscription

  1. To cancel, open Google Play subscriptions for the purchasing account.
  2. Select ChorePoints and follow Google Play’s cancellation steps.
  3. To restore, return to the ChorePoints plan screen and choose Restore Purchase.

Android and iPhone availability

ChorePoints is available now on Google Play. The iPhone version is coming soon. For a launch update, email [email protected].

Privacy and data

Keep family access and information under control.

Update a kid’s PIN or access method

  1. Open Family from a parent profile.
  2. Select the child profile.
  3. Update the shared-device PIN or the child’s own-device access details.
  4. Save the changes, then test the new sign-in method.

Fix notification permissions

  1. Open Android Settings and find ChorePoints under Apps.
  2. Open Notifications and allow the alerts your family wants.
  3. Return to ChorePoints and reopen the app so the device can register again.

Request data access or account deletion

Email [email protected] from a parent account email. Include the family name and whether you are requesting access, correction, export, or deletion. Never include a password or kid PIN.
